Hello All,
It is a very busy time of year for MICS and it’s directors and volunteers. While our main focus is on preparing for the building construction coming up this weekend we have also been very busy organizing and planning for this years “Firefest Auction”
The auction will be taking place again this year at Brenda Peacocks “red barn” property on Apple Orchard Way. We would like to thank Brenda in advance for opening up her property for the community to enjoy a day of fun and fundraising. The date for the event is Sunday August 4th with Monday the 5th being BC Day.
Please keep an eye out for event posters that will be highlighting some of the events and entertainment for the day. We are now accepting items for the auction and would ask that you please contact Chad, Phillip, myself or other directors for MICS is you have something you would like to donate.
With an eye on keeping things enjoyable and moving along we are talking about limiting the number of items that will be auctioned this year. We are hoping for good quality new or very lightly used items, something entertaining, practical, coveted or delicious.
Each year we have some fantastic items donated and have witnessed some very energetic bidding and I’m sure this year will be no different.
More info will be shared over the next few weeks. Mark the date on your calendar and invite some friends and family out for the long weekend, then come and have some fun with your neighbours as we come together to raise awareness and funds for fire fighting and emergency services equipment on Mudge Island.
Looking forward to seeing you all,
Scott Flemming and the Board of MICS
